I personally love to write poetry and keep all of my poems in a padded journal. This project allows you to pick your favorite fabric and make the journal more personal.
What you need: Scissors, Composition Notebook, 1 yard of fabric, ribbon, cotton stuffing, glue
- Spread out fabric with the side that you want facing out downwards
- Open composition notebook on fabric
- Cut around notebook leaving two inches of the fabric making a big square
- Take cotton padding, close book and mold cotton into same size as book cover
- Glue around the 3 edges of the inside front cover of the book
- Cut fabric where you want the fold to start at the center part of the binder
- Lightly fold top half onto inside cover of notebook and do the same with the bottom
- Trim sides a little shorter and fold fabric over like end of a present
- Take the ribbon around the length of the book and glue that down
- Take first page of notebook and glue down to inside cover to hide all of the folding
- Repeat steps 4-9 for back cover
- Take ribbon and glue to inside of the back cover
- Glue last page to back of the notebook
