Face Mask - View Video

A spa day is one of my favorite things! It is about relaxation and releasing the toxins in your skin. Here I find ingredients from my home to make our own special facial. I have been learning about Ayurveda which means the science of long life. The Ayurveda treatment includes these easy ingredients that I am going to use.

Three Different Masks depending on Skin Type- pitta, vata, kapha

Vata- Dry flaky skin, vulnerable to windy weather, easily dehydrated
What you need: 1/2 carrot (grated), 1 avocado (mashed) and 2 Tbs. almond oil

  1. Mix the ingredients in a bowl
  2. Refrigerate

Kapha-oily thick skin, more tolerant to sun, very large pores
What you need: 1 apple (grated), 1 egg white, 2 Tbs. lemon juice

  1. Mix the ingredients in a bowl
  2. Refrigerate

Pitta- very sensitive, have both oily and dry areas, low tolerance to hot food, tend to flare up with acne and rashes
What you need: 1/2 banana (mashed), 1/2 small cucumber (grated), 2 Tbs. yogurt

  1. Mix the ingredients in a bowl

Before applying facial mask, it is best to do a tea steam

  1. Use any type of tea and put 1 or 2 Tbs. into bowl
  2. Pour hot water into bowl
  3. Take small towel to cover it and stay in the steam for no more than 15 or 20 seconds
  4. Now apply the mask
